Insight: A thorough clinical examination of teeth with furcation involvements is critical for developing the best treatment plan. In order to "really know" what's going on inside the furcation you must carefully probe it. Standard straight probes cannot always negotiate the defect so many people use the curved Nabors probe to enter and measure difficult to access furca areas.
